This afternoon saw the first English Club meeting of the year to welcome new members (104 new English Clubbers!). Ed, Sherree, Big Nick and I were asked to go to give speeches (as the reason people join English Club is to look at foreigners so some of us had to be there). It went on for a good hour and a half, in Chinese bar our short introductions and welcomes. Yesterday, Sherree taught Chairman Morning and the rest of the leadership committee how to run meetings, so there were minutes of the last meeting, an agenda... Anyway, was an experience if a little dull listening to Chinese speech after Chinese speech. There are a lot of new female members, I think because the committee accepting applications to join is largely made up of boys, and they mobbed me on my way out to titter and blush and say how pretty they think I am. So, the party planned for post-National Day Holiday may not be great...
